1. Introduction
Welcome to K&M Removals. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and the removal and relocation services we provide.
In these terms, “K&M Removals”, “we”, “our”, or “us” refers to K&M Removals, and “you” or “your” refers to any person or business using our website or engaging our services.
By using our website, submitting a quote request, or booking a removal service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, subject to any applicable laws and any separate service agreement provided to you.
2. Our Services
K&M Removals provides moving and relocation services for residential and commercial customers in Canberra and surrounding areas, including:
- Home and household removals.
- Office and commercial relocations.
- Interstate moving services.
- Piano moving and specialised item transportation.
The availability and scope of services may depend on your location, moving requirements, access conditions, scheduling, and other operational considerations.
We reserve the right to assess each request and confirm whether we can provide the requested service.
3. Quotes and Estimates
You may request a free quote through our website or by contacting our team directly.
To prepare a quote, we may require details such as your contact information, moving date, pickup and destination locations, the size of your move, and any special handling requirements.
- Quotes are based on the information you provide at the time of enquiry.
- Additional charges may apply if the actual requirements differ materially from the details supplied.
- Changes to the moving date, locations, access arrangements, inventory, or service requirements may affect the quoted price.
- Any applicable additional charges should be communicated and agreed upon before the additional work is carried out, except where otherwise permitted by law or provided for in an agreed service arrangement.
- A quote request does not constitute a confirmed booking.
A booking is confirmed only when our team has accepted the booking and communicated the applicable arrangements to you.
4. Booking and Scheduling
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information when requesting or confirming a moving service.
Before your scheduled move, please ensure that:
- The pickup and delivery addresses are correct.
- The agreed date and arrangements are confirmed.
- Our team is informed of stairs, lifts, narrow access points, parking restrictions, or other relevant access conditions.
- Any unusually heavy, fragile, valuable, or difficult-to-move items are disclosed in advance.
- Someone is available to provide access and instructions where required.
We will make reasonable efforts to arrive and complete the move according to the agreed schedule. However, delays may occur due to traffic, weather, access difficulties, equipment issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will endeavour to notify you of significant delays where reasonably practicable.
5. Customer Responsibilities
To help ensure a safe and efficient relocation, you agree to:
- Provide complete and accurate information about your move.
- Ensure that items are ready for collection as agreed.
- Arrange suitable access and parking at pickup and delivery locations.
- Securely pack items that you have agreed to pack yourself.
- Remove or identify hazardous materials and prohibited items before the move.
- Inform us of fragile items, special handling requirements, and any pre-existing damage.
- Ensure that any necessary permissions for access to the property have been obtained.
Additional work, waiting time, or rescheduling may be necessary if these requirements are not met. Any related charges will be handled in accordance with the agreed booking terms and applicable law.
6. Payments and Additional Charges
The applicable service price, payment schedule, deposit requirements, and accepted payment methods will be communicated during the booking process or in your service agreement.
You agree to pay the charges associated with the services you have confirmed.
Additional charges may apply where agreed services change, extra items are added, access conditions differ from those disclosed, or additional labour or equipment is reasonably required.
We will communicate applicable additional charges and obtain your agreement where required before proceeding with additional chargeable work.
Any deposits, outstanding payments, refunds, and payment deadlines will be governed by the terms communicated at the time of booking and applicable Australian law.
7. Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please contact our team as early as possible.
Cancellation fees, deposit refunds, rescheduling conditions, and any applicable charges will be determined by the cancellation terms provided and agreed upon when your booking is confirmed, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
If we need to cancel or significantly change a booking, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and discuss appropriate arrangements, subject to the agreed service terms and applicable law.
8. Handling of Belongings
We take reasonable care when handling, loading, transporting, and unloading your belongings.
Customers should identify fragile, valuable, unusually heavy, or specialist items before the move so that appropriate arrangements can be considered.
Where packing services are included, the scope of those services will be confirmed during booking. Where you pack your own belongings, you are responsible for ensuring that they are suitably packed and protected, subject to our obligations under applicable law.
Certain items may require special equipment, additional personnel, or separate arrangements. We may decline to transport items that cannot be moved safely or lawfully.
9. Damage, Loss, and Insurance
We aim to handle your belongings carefully throughout the moving process.
If you believe that an item has been lost or damaged while we are providing our services, please notify us as soon as reasonably practicable, providing relevant details and supporting photographs or documentation where available.
We will review the matter and respond in accordance with the applicable service agreement, insurance arrangements, and Australian law.
Any insurance coverage, exclusions, limits, or claim requirements applicable to your booking will be subject to the relevant policy and the information provided to you. Please contact us before booking if you require clarification about available insurance arrangements.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified under applicable law.
10. Specialised and Excluded Items
Certain belongings may require advance assessment or special handling arrangements, including:
- Pianos and other large musical instruments.
- Antiques, artwork, and unusually valuable items.
- Heavy machinery or oversized furniture.
- Delicate electronics and specialist equipment.
- Hazardous, flammable, illegal, or otherwise restricted materials.
You must inform us about any item that requires special handling before the move. We may decline to transport an item if suitable arrangements cannot be made or its transportation would be unsafe or unlawful.
11. Access, Parking, and Property Conditions
Customers are responsible for informing us of any known access restrictions at the pickup and delivery locations.
These may include stairs, lifts, restricted driveways, limited parking, narrow hallways, building rules, or access permits.
If access differs from the information provided, we may need to adjust the moving arrangements. Any additional work or charges will be discussed and handled in accordance with the agreed booking terms and applicable law.
We will take reasonable care to avoid damage to premises while carrying out our services.
12. Interstate Moving Services
Interstate relocations may involve longer transportation distances, additional scheduling requirements, and coordination between locations.
Estimated arrival and delivery times are provided according to the information available when the booking is arranged. These may change due to traffic, weather, road closures, transport restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of significant changes affecting their relocation.
Any interstate-specific service arrangements, charges, delivery estimates, and applicable conditions will be communicated during the booking process.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, K&M Removals is not responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, or other unexpected events that prevent or delay the provision of services.
We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by the customer, undisclosed special handling requirements, or inadequate customer packing, except to the extent that our own acts or omissions contribute to the loss or applicable law provides otherwise.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for negligence, breach of contract, consumer guarantees, or any other liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
Where a limitation of liability is permitted, it will apply only to the extent allowed by the applicable law and any valid, agreed service terms.

16. Complaints and Disputes
